Mr. Paylor joined the office of the Federal Defender in the spring of 2008 as an Assistant Federal Defender. He was promoted to Supervising Attorney with the office in the spring of 2013. He is considered to be a strong advocate for his clients and works relentlessly to ensure fairness, integrity and equality in our justice system. He prides himself in his ability to communicate with people from all faucets of life.He is a firm believer in the principle that courtrooms are designed to regulate and judge laws, not morality; therefore, people should not be punished because they have chosen to live a legal alternative way of life.
Mr. Paylor received his BBA in Accounting from Austin Peay State University. After joining the workforce in various accounting and auditing areas, he continued his education by attending the University of Memphis, Cecil C. Humphrey’s School of Law and the Fogelman College of Business. He obtained his Juris Doctorate and Masters of Business Administration simultaneously.
Mr. Paylor was licensed to practice law in the fall of 2000 in the state of Tennessee. Later that fall he was admitted to the District Court for the Western District of Tennessee. He was admitted to practice before the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals in the summer of 2008.
